Auditions

The next set of auditions will occur on January 16th, both at 5:15PM, 6:15PM, and 7:15PM. Auditions are held in a group format and nothing “special” needs to be prepared.  The audition takes approximately 20 minutes.

Auditions for the Children’s Choir of Lancaster are held by appointment only. Please contact Mrs. Sempsey to schedule an appointment:

Auditions will include:

  • Teacher led vocal warm-up.
  • Singers will learn a new song.
  • A basic introduction to singing in parts.

**Ability to read music is NOT required to audition for CCL.  Singers will be taught to read music as a part of rehearsals.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does my child need to have previous choir experience?
No, it is not necessary that your child have choral singing experience.  He/she should genuinely love to sing, sing in tune and want to learn more.

How long will the auditions last?
The audition is approximately 20 minutes long.  Auditions are done by appointment only.

May I go into the audition room with my child?
Yes, CCL has an “open door policy.”   Parents are always invited to watch auditions and rehearsals.

How many children are accepted into the choir?
All children that successfully pass the audition will be invited to join the choir.  Help us continue to grow and recommend CCL to a child who loves to sing!

How will I find out the results of the auditions?
You will receive notification within 48 hours.
